Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum
Rum-pa-pum-pum
Rum-pa-pum-pum
On my blog.
That song always chokes me up. ‘Specially when he’s all, “I’ll play my best for him.” And when the ox and lamb keep time. I like that part the most of all.
Anyway, I really don’t have anything for you. Except Greedo and mini Lincoln logs. I’ll post some pics for you, pa rum pa pum pum. The best that I can do, pa rum… you know the rest. Happy holidays, folks!

HAN SHOOTS FIRST!!

I hate the little drummer boy song with a passion. All versions. Even Harry Connick Jr.'s.
Sorry, I couldn't not say it. Some of you may understand.

Um, also ... it's a good thing you took those pics of Greedo, because I doubt he remembers anything.
Posted by: peefer at December 26, 2005 08:32 PM
I still have my Greedo too. Also my Yoda, who is on my desk, and several others, who are buried away somewhere in storage. I also cry every time they get to "I played my best for him." Then my husband tries to make me cry harder by claiming he dies at the end. "Poor little drummer boy. He doesn't make it."

I still have my Greedo as well. A few of them in fact. But my fave figure to just "have around" was Snaggletooth. He rocks. And, as a kid, he fit in my pocket better than the full-size figures. I should bring him to work.

Dave2: Does he? Will we ever really know?
Peef: Your heart is black like charcoal. And yes, Greedo was pretty out of it that night. He plays poker like an amateur, too.
Jen: See - you get it! Poor 'lil drummer boy.
Kevin: Dang, does everyone have a Greedo? I must confess, this Greedo is not mine. I borrowed him from my friend Dr. Greene for the photo shoot. But the Lincoln logs are mine... does that count for anything?

***trembling***
I don't even know who Greedo is.
***exits abruptly***

Stop your trembling, 'lil Shari. You can always share your honest feelings here (unless they make me uncomfortable). This is a place of learning. Behold Greedo.

Too fun, Jen - hope you had a wonderful holiday!

I am experiencing the Greedo equivalent of penis envy...

Hey, I remember Lincoln Logs!! I didn't know they still made them.
Posted by: teahouseblossom at December 27, 2005 02:14 PM
Oh! Well now I don't feel so bad about not recognizing him -- thanks, Jen. Gee!
***whistling, Opie Taylor-style***

I'm gonna have to remember the rewriting of a Christmas classic as a blog entry for next year. You know. When it won't look nearly as shamelessly stolen.:)
Posted by: Janet at December 28, 2005 09:43 AM
Hey! I'll give ya twenty bucks for that fine Greedo action figure.
Posted by: Bobby at December 29, 2005 12:24 AM
Dont hurt Greedo! The sci - fi geek in me sees that his in near mint condition.
Posted by: Rich at December 29, 2005 01:18 AM
You take unauthorized photos of MY Greedo and then post them on YOUR site. WTF?! Seriously, WTF?! The mini Lincoln Logs were yours, but not my precious Greedo. I'm going to start my paint-by-numbers of a unicorn riding a snowmobile through a rainbow tonight. This is war...
Posted by: Dr. G at December 29, 2005 06:53 PM
Okay, I had no idea that Greedo was so popular! I wouldn't have made him walk through that bowl of french onion dip if I had known he had street value.
Oh, and Dr. G? Yeah. You do that, why don't you? And maybe I'll have to post those pictures of you and your precious Greedo in a somewhat compromising position from last New Years.

I am so happy to hear that I am not the only one who gets all sentimental about the "I played my best for him" line. Every time I hear it I just want to cradle the Little Drummer Boy in my arms and whisper, "It's just a drum, there's not much you can do with just a drum, I'm sure everyone loved it."
