“Whatever you do,” she sighed, “if you decide to get married someday…”
I stood next to her in silence for a few long seconds while she played with her ring, gathering her thoughts. She measured her breathing, taking control.
“Just make sure he loves you more.”

Just... ...ouch.

Arggggggh...
This is just ducky...I won't be able to get to a computer for the next week or so, and you leave me with a cliff-hanger like THIS!
Again...Arggggggggh!

la pauvre. :(
yeah ... ouch.

Because if it's the other way around, you're at a real disadvantage. Ugh, that's a gut punch! So sorry for her... Please give her my best.
Still, for the record? My advice would be to make sure it's an even trade. Even if an imbalance is in your favor, ultimately balance is more satisfying.

I don't see much good coming from this build up.

No, there's no part two to this story. And I agree, having been on both sides of imbalance before, neither is very fun.

Oh Jenny. Hugs to you, and to her. My stomach hurts just thinking about it, and I can't stop thinking about it. I bet you can't either. And worse? I bet she can't, either. Gaaah. I'm bringing scotch. I'll be there tomorrow.

As if it all just stayed constant.
Sigh...
Whatever you do, just keep changing in the same way in the same direction.
As if you had control over it all.
Sigh...

That breaks my heart.

That's such a painful bit of wisdom.

Just make sure each of you willingly believes you are getting the best of the deal. Not because you take more; not because you fail to give all; but because the other so happily gives so abundantly and well.
Works for us.
