« Mystery Photo Quiz! | Main | Desperately Seeking Mundanity »
You know how on America's Next Top Model, every season the judges say that, "This was our toughest decision ever," right before they announce the final winner? Well, I really did think that this was the toughest mystery photo quiz ever, and once again, I was amazed that so many of you got them right! There was only one that no one guessed (#7), but if anyone had gotten it correct, I would have worried that you were spying on me, because it was just that impossible.
And now, all shall be revealed:
One = King of Clubs
Pretty much everyone got this correct, but I want to know how some of you actually knew the suit! WTF? Do all playing cards look alike? I had no idea!
Two = Generic Q-Tips
I hadn't really planned on calling attention to the fact that I use generic Q-tips, but everyone commented on that. In fact, some even called them "beauty swabs," which makes me think of pretty sailors, and that makes me smile.
Three = Frog
I loves me some frogs. And toads. And snakes. But I found that it's hard to crop a frog photo without it looking like a frog. I tried a few different times, but to no avail:
Four = Iron
I actually thought this one would stump people more than it did. I will never underestimate you again.
Five = Floaty Dashboard Compass
Really, the big mystery here is: why the hell do I have a floaty dashboard compass next to my desk? It just makes no sense, but it's been there for years. Although, I can honestly say that I've never gotten lost on my computer, so I suppose it works.
Six = Dandelion
See... sometimes I go outside!
Seven = Washboard [aka Instrument of Jug Band Evil]
Really, the only person who should have gotten this one right is Nat, since she was my jug bandmate, but she gave up trying after the King of Clubs. I played that washboard like an old pro. They didn't call me Thimble-Fingers Amadeo for nothing. Okay, fine - they never called me that.
Eight = Corkscrew
I thought this one would be impossible, too, but again with the underestimation.
Nine = Mascara brush
After seeing this close up, do you really ever want to put on mascara again? And this one was brand new!
Ten = Cat nose
Wow. Just... wow. I had no idea how disgusting this was when I took the photo. I guess there are some things that are best viewed at a healthy three to four foot distance.
Bonus TequilaCon Photo = Kick-assinest beaded ring
No one was expected to figure this out unless you witnessed the glorious $7.95 ring I bought in NYC for TequilaCon. It has brought me at least $24.95 worth of joy.
Famous ring seen here applying Spongebob Squarepants tattoo to the bicep of some lovely blogger.
Thanks for participating, everybody!

So... they weren't tools to fix your "remember me" button?? Seriously?

Shari, are you trying to kill me? There's almost no lining left on my stomach... when will you finally be satisfied?

Yay for the corkscrew!
Well, you may have foiled my alien theory, but I do still have a question. Where did you find the frog?
Posted by: Sunny at May 18, 2006 03:12 AM
i was convinced that seven was one of those old-school pencil sharpeners. wrong again, i see...

Sunny: The frog, along with the dandelion, was found on Mother's Day in the little pond in my parents' backyard. This one was particularly bold because my dad feeds him worms.
Kat: I know - it was impossible to guess. But when someone suggested pencil sharpener, I thought that was a great guess - it does kind of look like one of those!

Well. So I came late. I guess disregard my guesses in the entry below. Had just followed the link and did not come by main entrance.
Good contest and the corkscrew was a good one. Never would have guessed it.

Dude, cat NOSE instead of cat tongue. Now I get it. Not really.

I'm so glad you did the reveal; I had to hold back from commenting, since I knew the last one already. :)
Posted by: sandra at May 18, 2006 12:49 PM
Oh, but I just love cat noses! And tongues. Hanging out.
Posted by: ashbloem at May 18, 2006 01:24 PM
Serenity: Your guesses were good ones! The corkscrew was all but impossible at that angle. I don't know how people figured it out!
Tracy Lynn: I can totally see where it looked like a tongue, though.
Sandra: Yes, that ring features prominently in the Supermodel Series of TC06 photos...
Ash: My love for cat tongues knows no limits. Wait. That sounds creepy. I just think they're funny!
Posted by: jenny at May 18, 2006 01:46 PM
So is it just because I was with you when you purchased the ring that I don't get an honorable mention for recognizing it?!
Sheesh.

Woww..those were hard. And you've convinced me with this post that frogs are in fact, rather cute!
Posted by: teahouseblossom at May 19, 2006 08:22 AM
Ewwwww....the cat nose close-up was way gross.
Posted by: Dustin at May 19, 2006 08:57 AM
You could tell which card it was by the curl of the hair.

Jen, you are still in the running to become America's Next Top Blogger.
