"Oh Jen - I made the best chili this week! It was so spicy that it gave your dad a nosebleed. Twice! I still have some in the freezer if you want to take a bowl home with you."
"Mm... tempting, but no. Call me if you make him some egg salad that gives him diarrhea, though."
[Happy birthday, mom! I love you to pieces!]

ooooo nosebleed....*swoon* I love it hot enough to draw blood.
Happy Birthday mom. Speaking of hot, you are quite a dish!
Now pass me that bowl of chilli and some cotton swabs!

And Double-Salt Licorice for dessert! :-)

Hahaha... hilarious.
Possibly even better than: "Do you want some of this pudding? I'm just going to throw it out."

lolol!!
I love it!
This reminds me of when I was living in Japan with a bunch of other foreigners who could not speak or read Japanese and one invited me over for dinner.
He said, "Oh my God, I somehow ended up with the grossest cheese you've ever tasted in your life. I have no clue what it is, but is so bad I can't even describe it. Do you want to try some?"
"Sure," I said.
He then walked over to the garbage can and started fishing around.
I still wonder if the cheese was really as bad as he claims.

Does it have to be egg salad that gives him diarrhea? Because maybe he'd prefer a nice tuna melt to do that.
Happy, happy birthday, Mom Amadeo! Thanks for unleashing Jenny on the world - she's a treasure, which makes me suspect you are, too.

sarah: Wait - so you didn't taste it after he dug it out of the trash?
shari: I think tuna would do quite nicely as well! (and thanks!)
sizz: You got that right!
RW: Well, my mom has a container of it in her freezer with your name on it now!
mainja: Triple yay for calling her my mum. Canadians rock my world.
trisha: So glad I could assist! I'd offer you some chili, too, but looks like Elle and RW ate it all. :)

Aww, thanks for the birthday wishes and compliments! I sure appreciate them.
And how about that kid of mine, huh? I am one lucky mom. As you might guess, not only do I get a laugh out of Jen's blog, I also get a kick out of the bantering you guys do with her!
(Still drooling for that salt licorice...)
