Mushball

So, I’ve watched this about five times, and get equally choked up each time. Am I getting soft in my old age? Hormone imbalance? Perhaps. Or is this possibly just the sweetest video ever? That first little woman who hugs him kills me every time.

Big hugs to Elle for sharing this!

i totally cried too! damn it jenny. :) but i have pms so everything makes me weep this week. still, it's a beautiful video. we're so closed off from one another- i love that he did that.

Goodness - maybe you should add a Warning - Waterfalling here. I'm going to post a link on my blog to send people over here since I have no idea how to add that you tube thing!

My friend posted that video a couple days ago...it is freaking awesome.
The effect is astounding, to me, as I watch it.
Because at first I thought, "Ew, kinda creepy having this scrawny guy offering up hugs. Who would want to go hug him?"
Then the old lady hugs him. And as the hugs continue and I see folks get into it, I start feeling warm inside. Then I want a hug. Then as they try to ban him and the signatures add up, the tears start. The people leaping into one another's arms! It reminds me of the airport scenes in Love Actually (one of my favorite movies ever).
Sigh. I want to hug someone.

Thanks Jenny for the info! Just mopping up the face now!

This is a terrorist plot to spread world peace!

Oh great, jenny, you made me cry. I'm not sure I can forgive you for that. :-)

My absolute favorite thing is hugs. I felt sad for him at first cause no one would hug him, then i felt choked up as the hugs started.

Awesome : )

Oh, Jenny. Quit being such a damn hippie.

Posted by: Sarah at September 29, 2006 10:59 AM

I'm down with hugging the hippies, but too bad about the music.

That's soooo touching... And I'm glad Citizen introduced us!!

I'll be back.

That's the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

Posted by: heather anne at September 29, 2006 02:02 PM

Definitely heart warming! Makes me want to hug and be hugged.

Posted by: Bob at September 29, 2006 02:24 PM

And all this time I've been thinking perhaps I need to reign in the whole hugging everyone I know thing... but now, WATCH OUT TC'07 attendees!! I'm making a sign and everything. There will be hugging.

Thanks Jen -- I needed that hug today, too. Perfect timing.

That was so cool!

Posted by: Neil at September 29, 2006 03:44 PM

I'd hug him. I'd even hug him special tight if he ...

[inner voice says shut up]

Sorry. Nothing. That was very nice, Jenny. Thanks for sharing.

Wow – I leave this blog for a few hours and it’s a regular hug-fest!

kat: you're such a badass. i have a special place in my heart for hippies, as i briefly pretended to be one in college.

sizzle: yeah, i'm trying to blame it on hormones, too... :)

jody: i know - it caught me off guard the first time, too!

sarah: the effect really is pretty overwhelming, in a good way. I might just make a little sign for myself now…

dave2: i know how much you love to hug strangers... :)

tracy lynn: wait – you cried? I made the badass mamma jamma tracy lynn get weepy? Yes!

sarah g: that was my first thought, too – it was so sad until the first lady hugged him!

sarah: oh, you can pretend to be a cynic all you want. but maybe if you would hug your neighbors a little more often, they wouldn't put nasty notes on your door about basketball hoops and the like... ;)

ash: really? you didn’t like the music? i was kind of into it. that, and the hippie hugging.

rachael: i know – that matchmaker neil sure knows his business!

heather anne: it’s almost scary how much i enjoyed this. i just keep watching it, and getting choked up. what if i can’t stop?

bob: doesn’t it, though?

shari: aw, kiddo – you don’t need to carry any sign. i’m one of at least ten people planning to tackle you in portland.

neil: wasn’t it a cool idea? now when are you getting out there with your signs?

peefer: i wish your inner voice wasn’t such a controlling prude.

This is why I love airports so much, because people hug each other so much. We all need more hugs, baby!

Posted by: viscountess of funk at September 29, 2006 08:09 PM

Awww. Come here babe, lemme give you a big hug... for free.

Posted by: elle at September 29, 2006 10:59 PM

I came over from Heather Anne's.
Big hugs to both of you.
That was great!

This makes the world a better place.
