Just so you know...
I've never read Jane Austen, and I have no plans to. I think she's totally overrated. And anyone who doesn't like tapioca pudding can kiss my a**.
This message brought to you by 3.5 glasses of shiraz and the letter "empty stomach."

I'm much more of a Bronte person myself. And don't tell that friend we have that thinks chocolate is the best but...tapioca is actually my favorite pudding!
Posted by: Hilly at January 24, 2008 10:37 PM
no, hilly - you're my favorite pudding. wait... did that even make sense? anyway - i knew i liked you!

Wow. You are so much more eloquent than I am when you drink wine on an empty stomach. I mostly sit around and wonder which B movie actress would play me in a made for TV movie about my life.

It's not so much that I don't like tapioca pudding really... it's just the fish-eggs they use to make it that kinda creep me out. I really, REALLY like shiraz though, so that sort of makes up for it, right?
Posted by: shari at January 24, 2008 10:45 PM
you're a fun drunk. ;)
Posted by: sizzle at January 24, 2008 11:11 PM
I like pudding of all kinds... except perhaps blood pudding. Chocolate is my favorite, but I wouldn't refuse a Snack Pack tapioca, that's for sure! Pudding makes me happy. :-)

that email i sent today? forget i ever sent it.

Never read any Austen myself. But tapioca? YUM!
Posted by: kapgar at January 25, 2008 06:05 AM
Shiraz is one of my favorite wines. Tapioca pudding blows though. Where does the A** kissing line start?
Posted by: Strode at January 25, 2008 07:12 AM
churlita: ooh - that sounds like fun, too! next time i'll have to ponder on that for a while. :)
shari: don't worry, shari - the fish eggs they put in tapioca are dead already.
sizzle: in my head i am...
dave2: snack pack tapioca for everyone!
kat!: i'm sorry it had to come to this, kat, but someone had to finally say it. can't we just put austen aside and resolve this over tequila like normal people?
kapgar: you get 2 gold stars in my book!
strode: you get 1 gold star. back of the line!

Tapioca sucks. Pudding isn't supposed to be chunky. It's unnatural. The person that invented tapioca kicked puppies for a living. It's true because I just made it up.
Also, if it's not a zinfandel or a cabernet, the red wine you're drinking is swill. Swill, I tell you.
Also also, I want to read Jane Austen primarily so that when I mock her most rabid fans, it will be with authority and complete justification.
Too much coffee this morning.

ITA on Jane Austen, and tapioca's okay if you don't mind the eensy little eyeballs. Squish, squish!

Someone had a good time last night. Drunk-texting AND drunk-posting? Awesome. :)
Posted by: vahid at January 25, 2008 09:27 AM
My favourite was "and the letter "empty stomach".
You're my hero.
Posted by: mainja at January 25, 2008 09:44 AM
sir: i was about to challenge you to a duel, all pride and prejudice style, but then i saw your comment about jane austen, so we're cool again.
miz uv: my mom always said tapioca looked like it had frog eyes in it. and i love frogs, so i must love tapioca!
vahid: drunk texting? wha-? [frantically runs to check cell phone history] ;)
mainja: that seemed to be my favorite part last night, too. :)

I've never eaten tapioca pudding but my son would never eat the tapioca pudding baby food.
I've also never read Jane Austen but I perused a book of "quotes" once and found many to be rather insightful. My favorite was, "If a woman hesitates as to whether or not she should say yes to a man, she should say no directly."
Sure, maybe some people would consider this "obvious" advice but it's invaluable for those of us don't think as easily for ourselves.

jess: so you trust some baby's opinion over my own? nice. really nice, jess. i don't know... i just thought i knew you better.

Yeah, Jane Austen is a twit, and tapioca is awesome.
You can tell 'empty stomach' that I said so, damnit.

While we're at it, I can't stand Tolstoy. That's right, I said it.
