Dang it. Now I wish I was good at sports instead of being this big computer nerd. We never get to hang out with cheerleaders.

You know, I have some pom poms if you ever want to re-enact this sometime.

For complete authenticity, you need a splatter-painted step ladder and a slightly sullen, bitchy attitude. At least if you want to emulate the Mira Costa High School varsity cheer squad of 1995.

Grayson is flattered that you believe in his team, and wants you to know that he’ll do his very best to reward your faith and bring the pennant home this weekend. (And if you don’t know who Grayson is, or what sport he’s playing, don’t worry. I’m keeping your secret and just letting him believe you’re cheering for him anyway. And it’s very nice of you, too.)

    Ready! O-K!

It’s the first shot that makes this series for me.

dave: how did you know i was cheering for you?

vahid: who do you think you’re fooling? i know that nerds get all the chicks!

sarah: sweet! but do i also need to wear the skirt?

cheryl: oh, i can do sullen and bitchy all right. just you watch me tr-…. okay, i totally can’t do sullen and bitchy. i knew i’d never make it onto the squad.

shari: well, i do know who grayson is, but i have no idea what sport. baseball maybe? isn’t it baseball season? whatever it is, i’m rooting for him to win!

claire: thanks! it’s the calm before the storm.
