Ooh! Do what I do and peel the stickers off and then put them back so the puzzle is solved. Far less aggravating that way.

  2. jenny Says:

But then the stickers start to curl at the edges. My preferred technique as a kid was to take a screwdriver, pop the pieces out and snap them all back together. Rubiks cubes are the worst.

This is taking retro cool to the next level.

I’ve been loving these photo booth posts, but this one is my favorite so far.

Like you, as a kid I’d pop the pieces out of Rubik’s Cubes back in high school — but that was so I could swap single pieces between my friends’ cubes and make them impossible. Ah, good times.

  5. You can call me, 'Sir' Says:

When I was a kid, I got to the point where I could solve that sucka in under a minute. If I tried that now, I’d probably throw out my hip spring a brain leak or something. They still make excellent projectiles, though.

Aaack! The Rubik’s Cube is attacking Jenny! Did you get out safely? Were you able to neutralize it? The suspense, it’s killing me!

(My 6 year old received his first Rubik’s Cube recently. As of his first try, it was sent into solitary confinement on the floor of the car where, to my knowledge, it remains in ignoble victory.)

These series are like a lesson in comic book storytelling. Excellent!

  8. Fiorello La Guardia Says:

So, I think it’s time to admit that you were a silent screen star in your previous life. “In those days they had faces…”

Are you ready for your close-up?

  9. Ren Says:

I was hoping the fourth frame would have the pieces of the cube flying through the air. :-D

  10. bonzo Says:

ooo, ooo – do the “snake” next!

  11. jenny Says:

vahid: rubik’s cubes are totally back in style now! i thought i was through with them forever.

carrington: thanks! and seriously, if you really did that, you are one evil genius. everything i thought i knew about canadians has been a lie!

sir: under a minute? you could’ve been on “that’s incredible!”

shari: how is that even a fun toy? it’s like torture!

claire: all those years of reading archie and the gang have finally paid off.

fiorello: i *am* big! it’s the pictures that got small.

ren: that was the bonus fifth frame.

bonzo: i think i remember liking the snake, because didn’t you just make shapes with that?
