Musical Interlude
I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. The internet could disappear today, and it all would have been worth it just for YouTube. Today’s reason for loving YouTube is that it has reunited me with two of my most passionate crushes of all time, Ann Wilson and Steve Perry. And until just now, I never noticed that they pretty much had the same hair. What do you know?

shari: please just learn from my mistakes… do *not* allow yourself to fall down the Journey/YouTube rabbit hole. you’ll start watching one video after another and suddenly realize you haven’t showered in 3 days.

I’ve seen these guys in concert a few times, with both Steve’s … Augeri got nuttin on Perry. I’ve never met anyone with bad memories of Journey music. Nice choice Jen.

The guitar intro to “Crazy on You” just put me seriously to shame. Been far too long since I picked up my guitar and to see that it’s theoretically possible such sounds could come out of it…well yeah, shame.
I’ll have to see if I can find some tab for that…so I can play my own very, very slow version.

Steve Perry and Ann Wilson are like… totally awesome. Whoa…reverted to the 80s there for a second.
We have a 21 year old marketing intern working with us now. He loves 80s music and thinks it is really cool that I actually got to see those bands live. Made me feel like a relic…

churlita: there were a lot of things we did in the 80’s that seemed like good ideas at the time. mullets were just one of them.
claire: i actually found a more recent video of heart on youtube singing an “unplugged” version of the song. maybe you could give that a shot!

OMG. That blonde (acoustic) guitar player who did the crazy you you intro was hot. Not a bad guitar player either. I never followed this band but I can see now that I’ve wasted my life.
